The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care for patient populations on the unit. This includes the immediate, short-term nursing care needs of patients, as well as, planning for long-term needs. The KY Nurse Practice Act and established HMH policies, procedures and standards of practice, determine the nurse's scope of practice.
Graduate of school of nursing with current unrestricted Kentucky license required. Requires good clinical, organizational, customer service and critical thinking skills. Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred on hire and required within 90 days of hire. ACLS is preferred upon hire, but is required within one year of employment. Flexibility in work schedule, shift hours and job duties are required as well as basic computer skills. Minimum of one year experience in specialty required. Neonatal Resuscitation training, Dysrhythmia recognition training and AWHONN fetal monitoring course preferred on hire. Must be able to pass competency in fetal monitoring and Dysrhythmia recognition or complete HMH directed course within 6 months of hire. Neonatal Resuscitation course required within 90 days of hire.
