Your tasks and responsibilities The primary responsibilities of this role, Oncology Marketing Director, are to: Achieve on or above budget performance for the Xofigo brand by establishing the budget and monitoring performance against it in all areas of marketing; Ensure the development of effective marketing strategies and programs for a therapeutic area by providing analytical and strategic leadership and by directing the product management teams. Provide clarification of marketing strategy and ensure others' buy-in and understanding; Direct, plan and formulate market development and product promotion plans, budgets, programs and objectives for assigned products, prepares sales forecast for use by Product Supply in accurately estimating product requirements and inventory control; Attract, develop and retain a motivated, competent marketing staff and prepares staff to meet the current and future needs of the business. Establishes broad direction and clarity of desired outcomes, but allows individuals to determine the specific steps which will be necessary to achieve results. Is thoughtful in determining staff assignments, with an eye toward what individuals can learn from one another in the process. Seeks out opportunities to expose staff to the thinking and strategy development occurring at higher levels in the organization, so that they have a broader context within which to operate. Focuses specific reward and recognition efforts on retaining high potential, top talent within the marketing department; Regularly communicates with other departments to get customer feedback about how the marketing group can better serve their needs and still yield mutual success. Continuously reinforces the importance of focusing on understanding and meeting external customer needs as the foundation of maintaining competitiveness as an organization; Ensure alignment of all efforts with the broader strategic direction of Bayer Pharm NA (and global where appropriate); Direct the development of advertising and promotional activities of the outside agencies and services involved in developing and implementing assigned product group advertising and promotional products. Directs activities, preparation, planning and implementation of conventions, conferences in order to assist the promotion of Bayer Pharmaceuticals, its image and its products; Contribute to the introduction of successful new indications by maintaining continuous communication with Research and Product Development and by communicating needs of the USA marketplace in the development process; Understand the therapeutic area market trends and assure the formation of strong promotional alliances. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Business of Liberal Arts; Minimum 12 years of relevant pharmaceutical experience in roles of increasing responsibility and scope including established and new product responsibilities (Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered); Successful product launch experience; Demonstrated leadership and career development skills; Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Travel: 25-30% domestic travel.
