Your tasks and responsibilities The primary responsibilities of this role, Deputy Director Commercial Data Scouting and Acquisition, are to: Understand how data can be utilized within different BUs and CGC in support of various commercial objectives and business models; Develop and negotiate contracts with data vendors in support of the Data Strategy for a specific Brand; Ensure appropriate data clauses are implemented in third party contracts to meet overall business objectives; Oversee and where possible, coordinate purchases of data across Pharma (multiple brands and CGC); Proactively scout for commercially available new data assets in support of BU objectives and Data Strategy including valuation and assessment of a new data source; Determine information related to new data acquisition and plans to operationalize to Data Governance Council as needed; Manage commercial data and reporting budget; Implement New Data Capabilities including Multi-Channel; Lead implementation of any new data capabilities including various non-sales-/ claims data, new SPs, new Product Launches etc.; This includes implementation from external vendor into Bayer's systems; As part of data strategy efforts, led by the Chief Commercial Officer, identify new needs of business users, working closely with those within BUs and CGC organization in support of Brand plans and BU priorities; Translate business needs into business requirements for IT to implement; Work closely with third-party vendors (specialty pharmacies, GPOs, data aggregators, marketing and digital agencies, etc.) in initiating data flows and quality controls; Work closely with data reporting/ stewards, and with IT to standardize and automate data flows. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; 12 or more years of business experience; 5 years of experience incorporating the following: Project management, BU specific market analysis, business analysis, data understanding and analysis, data management; Strong experience and knowledge of U.S. specialty pharma commercial data, across multiple segments and brands pertaining to the business, including but not limited to IMS, laptop/ iPad detailing, specialty pharmacy data, formulary data, multi-channel data; Structured verbal and written communication skills. Ability both to clearly communicate with non-technical audiences in business terms and technical audiences in system terms; Strong strategic and leadership abilities in order to form and shape a new capability; Excellent organizational and time management skills; Ability to work independently and within a team; Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a Data Science, Economics, Healthcare, Finance, Public Policy, Information Technology, or Business Intelligence concentration preferred; Advanced degree (masters ) with statistics related fields.
