Assistant Director Oncology Scientific Communication and Education

Your tasks and responsibilities Supports the Scientific Communications lead in translating scientific data into relevant product communication topics, as well as coordinating and maintaining relevant planning documents (Global Scientific Communications Plan, Global Thought Leader Plan, Global Medical Information Plan); Supports the planning and development of congress strategies, scientific symposia, global workshops, advisory boards and other stand-alone scientific educational programs that generate important information to guide ongoing communications efforts to the global medical and scientific community. Internal Communications and Training: Supports the development and implementation of internal scientific content to ensure that new product and scientific information are disseminated appropriately to medical affairs colleagues globally; Supports the planning and development of global core medical/scientific liaison materials for local implementation; Develops and maintains global training platforms and materials, ensuring currency with latest developments . Management of agency partnerships: Directs external partners in the creation and maintenance of new content related to ongoing projects; Plans and manages timelines and budget against the global communication plans and approved resources; proactively initiate corrective action as needed. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: A strong global mindset Experience working with cross-functional teams, across cultures and geographies; Experience working across boundaries and building effective working relationships between functions; Proven record of relationship building, both internally and externally to the organization; Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D, Pharm.D, M.Sc or equivalent) in a scientific discipline; Oncology training/experience is a priority; Minimum of one year experience in a related scientific/medical/pharmaceutical area, one year of which must include scientific communications, medical writing and publications planning and execution; Preferably, disease and therapeutic area knowledge in oncology for Bayer's existing portfolio and new opportunities; Proven ability to interpret scientific and clinical trial data and present that information in different formats for appropriate audiences; Thorough knowledge of company policies and processes; Experience of developing and delivering presentations and publications in English; Strong written and oral communication skills.
